Real Estate

The Real Estate Division is responsible for documenting all fees received by the Sheriff's Office for services performed. This division has the responsibility of preparing all paperwork to list a property for a sheriff sale, distributing the proceeds, and preparing a deed once a sale has taken place. Generating the calendar schedule for the upcoming year and notifying the attorneys and the court of filing dates and dates of sale is also a duty of the Real Estate Division.

License to Carry Permits

By State Law, the Sheriff of Mercer County has the responsibility to process all applications for a license to carry firearms and to issue licenses to Mercer County applicants who qualify, based on a background investigation done by the Sheriff's Office. All licenses are processed through Pennsylvania Instant Check System. Once an application for license to carry is filed, the Sheriff has 45 days in which to do the investigation and notify the applicant. The permit is valid for 5 years. The Sheriff has the ability to revoke the license at anytime for misuse.
