Mercer County is seeking competitive proposals from qualified, FDIC-insured financial institutions to establish a liquid deposit account—preferably a Money Market Deposit Account or a highly liquid interest-bearing account—for the initial investment of $12,500,000 in public funds.

The County’s primary objectives, in order of priority, are:

  • Safety and Legality: Complete preservation of principal through mandatory public fund collateralization.
  • Liquidity: Immediate access to funds via ACH, wire, or check with no withdrawal penalties.
  • Yield: Maximization of net interest income through competitive, benchmark-linked pricing.

Collection and Transportation of Recyclables From Countywide Drop-off Depots

The Lawrence-Mercer Recycling and Solid Waste Department is soliciting Bids for the Collection and Transportation of Recyclables From Countywide Drop-off Depots in Lawrence and Mercer Counties.

MANDATORY PRE-BID CONFERENCE Tuesday, September 22, 2026 at 10 a.m. Lawrence-Mercer Recycling/Solid Waste Department Public Safety Building, 1451 Countyline Road, New Castle, PA 16101. Pre or post conference questions must be submitted via the “Ask a Question” feature in PennBid at https://pennbid.bonfirehub.com

COUNTYWIDE REASSESSMENT EXTENSION

Mercer County has extended the countywide assessment project by one year. New assessed values, based on current market conditions, will now take effect for the 2028 tax year rather than 2027.
No action is required from Mercer County property owners at this time.
