The Bingo Law Act of Jul. 10, 1981 enables “associations” to play bingo for the purpose of fundraising for “charitable” or “civic” purposes.
An “association” as defined by the Bingo Law is “a volunteer fire company or ambulance, religious, charitable, fraternal, veterans, civic, county fair or agricultural association, or any separately chartered auxiliary of any of the above associations, organized as a nonprofit organization which shall have existed, and conducted business in furtherance of their written constitution, charter, articles of incorporation or bylaw express purpose, for two years prior to application for a license.”
Also defined by the Bingo Law:
“Charitable Purpose: Benevolent or philanthropic purpose.”
“Civic Purpose: Community Purpose.”
Bingo Licenses are issued for 1 year from date of issuance for $100 or for a period of 3 days only for $15.
Payments Accepted: Check from your organization’s bank account or Money Order purchased from your organization’s bank account. No cash, personal checks or credit cards are accepted for Bingo licenses.
